Bake delicious rolls yourself: this recipe is guaranteed to work

Best of all: Only ingredients that can be found in any well-stocked household – flour, dry yeast, water and salt are the basic ingredients for every good roll. That’s all it takes to conjure up crispy rolls for breakfast. The advantage of this recipe: The rolls are ready to bake after just 20 minutes – in contrast to other types of dough, which sometimes take several hours. Just try it.

By the way, the rolls are particularly crispy because they are baked with steam in the oven. But don’t worry: no additional function is required for this in the tube. When the oven is preheated, simply place an ovenproof dish, such as a baking dish, with a little water on the bottom of the oven. The steam that develops helps with baking. Here comes the recipe.

Ingredients for rolls: You need them for the recipe

You need: 330 milliliters of water, 1 packet of dry yeast, 500 grams of flour, 2 teaspoons of salt

And this is how it works: Pour the lukewarm water into a bowl, stir in the dry yeast and let it stand for a short time so that it can take effect. Then pour the flour into a mixing bowl and mix with the salt. Add the yeast water and knead everything with the food processor or hand mixer for about five minutes until a nice, even and smooth lump of dough has formed.

Knead it on a lightly floured work surface and divide into eight to ten pieces – depending on how big you want the rolls. Form the individual pieces into round buns, place on a baking tray lined with baking paper and make a single cut. Then cover with a clean tea towel and leave to rise for 20 minutes.

In the meantime, preheat the oven to 200 degrees and place an oven tray with a little water in the bottom of the oven. Then, when the rising time is over, brush the buns with a little water. Then bake in the oven for about 25 minutes until nice and crispy and brown. Take out, let cool slightly and enjoy. Enjoy your meal!
