Italian pizza-schnitzel: a successful combination

Get out of the comfort zone and try something new? You won’t be sorry with this recipe. Get involved with this German-Italian combination, you will be amazed.

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 1 red onion
  • 75 g green olives (pitted)
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt pepper
  • 4 pork escalopes (160 g each)
  • 100 grams of breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 350 ml tomato sauce for pizza
  • 100g grated Gouda cheese
  • 300g Farfalle
  • For Garnish:
  • basil

Approximately per serving:

  • 850 calories
  • 36 grams of fat
  • 69 grams of carbohydrates
  • 53g of protein

Preparation time:

  • 30 minutes (plus 15 minutes baking time)

And this is how it is done:


  1. Peel and thinly slice the onion. Cut the olives into rings. Beat eggs with salt and pepper. Pat the schnitzel dry, roll first in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs. Heat oil in a large pan. Fry the schnitzel for 1 to 2 minutes on each side. Place in a shallow baking dish or on a small baking sheet.
  2. Spread each schnitzel with a tablespoon of tomato sauce. Sprinkle onion and olives, spread cheese on top. Bake the schnitzel in the preheated oven (electric stove: 200 degrees, convection: 180 degrees, gas: level 3) for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Cook noodles in boiling salted water according to package directions. Heat the remaining tomato sauce. Drain noodles, drain. Serve with tomato sauce and schnitzel. Garnish with basil.
