MEP Project Manager

Job Description
What will you do:

Key Accountability 1: Project Management

Responsible for :

• Delivery of the project on time, within budget and of acceptable quality to all stakeholders.

• Liaise with all stakeholders (other contractors, consultants, client and internal departments) to ensure that project deliverables are met during engineering, implementation and project closure.

• Coordinate with the Project, Planning, Cost and Commercial Managers in determining the total material and labor requirements for the project, ensuring timely material ordering, and planning/arranging labor/subcontractors.

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Planning Manager in monitoring daily productivity, compared to planned corrective actions, for lost productivity.

• Monitor construction work from time to time and ensure that workmanship efficiency standards are maintained.

• Liaise with local authorities as required.

Key Accountability 2: Managing Costs

Responsible for :

• Monitor the concerned commercial project cost (cost to complete) with the assigned budget, and report on departmental/commercial/top estimating department cost trends in a timely manner.

• Coordinate with the Commercial Manager to ensure all variance work is recorded and delay notification so that effective claims are made to increase budgeted project margins

Accountability Key 3: Engineering

Responsible for :

• Coordinate with the Engineering Manager to ensure that all information related to technical drawings, mechanical equipment lists, construction equipment lists and technical specifications are updated and readily available

• Lead the project management team and design team in all aspects of the project.

Key Accountability 4: Quality/Standards

Responsible for :

• Coordinate with the Quality Assurance/QC Manager to develop/implement in-house engineering, construction standards, operating procedures, specifications and templates so that project, engineering and construction are delivered in a consistent manner.

• Monitor lessons learned Record and share technical information and lessons learned within the organization to maintain awareness of internal projects, developments and trends.

• Follow up with T&C Managers to develop Method Statements for each activity in line with Project Specifications. and project closing documents

Key Accountability 5: Health, Safety and Environment

Responsible for :

• Follow up with HSE managers to ensure that all company employees and subcontractors comply with the AFE HSE policy.

• Report all personal injuries and accidents and assist in investigations.

• Effective support and participation in safety and environment initiatives.

• Ensure that JSAs are completed as required.

Skills required for success:

Job specific skills:

Possess good knowledge in engineering design, and authority systems.
Possess strong leadership and communication skills
Possess knowledge in project planning, project management, cost management and FIDIC contract clauses.
Possess knowledge of project development and/or project management
Proven track record of completing projects
Written contractual communication.
